The ’59 Standard is one of the most revered guitars ever made. Gibson Custom Shop has recreated the instrument with an accurate reissue that has turned into an extremely popular instrument to both professionals and enthusiasts alike.
The Custom Shop ’59 RI is no ordinary Les Paul, and we should know since we stock a bunch of them. This is quite simply one of the best playing and sounding Gibsons in our inventory. It is a monster rock and blues guitar, with sustain that will boggle your mind. It sports a very heavy neck (even thicker than the actual ’59, in my opinion) and it was the first year that the Gibson Custom Shop guitars were Plek’d.
If you’ve never played a ’59, even if you’re not a huge Les Paul fan, this is a guitar to experience. If you are a Les Paul player, and you’re looking to try something extra special, this guitar is for you. Whether for a special gig, a recording, or just to enjoy in private, this instrument will not disappoint.

The danger with renting this guitar while on a business trip is that you'll miss all your meetings. The danger with renting this guitar while on a vacation is that your spouse will get mad at you because all you'll want to do is play. Our regular customers know that we have issues with the quality of Gibson guitars, but this specimen lives up to the image that players have of what a professional level Gibson Les Paul should feel and sound like. It's incredible.
We're sorry, but this instrument is not available for sale. Our customers plead with us to sell this one, but it's the best '59 reissue we've ever played so we're holding on to it so that our "affair" customers can enjoy it.
